This paint is perfect for:
- Barns
- Sheds
- Other wood and metal surfaces
The Importance of Barn Paint
All exterior surfaces need to be protected with paint. Even natural materials such as stone will be worn down over time, as they are battered by rain, wind, snow, and strong sunlight.
By adding paint, you create a resilient barrier against the elements, keeping the surfaces protected long-term.
This is especially important for wooden surfaces. Sheds and barns don’t just need to be weather-resistant, with a UV-repelling and waterproof formula, but also resistant to mould and insects. If you leave your barn unpainted, it’ll quickly look worse for wear, and there may be lasting damage that can make it unsafe to use or more prone to leaks and rot.
The weather will always be the biggest challenge. Damp wood is a breeding ground for all sorts of pests, and snow and frost makes it even worse. Direct sunlight will bleach the surface, which spoils some exterior wood paints. That’s why we created a compound with extra UV resistance, something you should never go without.
The Best Barn Paint
Our barn and shed paint, as the name suggests, is a fantastic product for wooden outbuildings. But it is much more versatile than you may realise.
As well as being perfect for protecting wood, our barn paint can also be used on metal surfaces, with the same guaranteed protection. This means that any metal supports and hinges will be protected from rust and wear, so they won’t let the side down.
Barns are naturally much bigger painting projects than your average garden shed, so you need a reliable paint so that you won’t need to repeat the process every few years. Our barn paint offers incredible protection, but is also one of our more affordable acrylic paints, so you won’t have to break the bank. It’s also available in large, trade-ready quantities up to 205l barrels – no job will be too big. It’s suitable for brushes, rollers, and spreaders, but for the latter you should always check the manufacturer’s recommendations first.
Lastly, this is an acrylic paint. It is therefore versatile but still easy to work with, at least compared to exterior oil-based paints, and also comes in a wide range of colours.
