Whenever possible, prep the surface before applying enamel paint. Lack of priming base increases the risk of running, cracking, and flaking paint. Some enamel paints include lacquer mixed in to increase the glossy finish’s lustre and waterproofness.

What is Enamel paint?

Enamel paint is typically an oil based hardwearing paint with a glossy finish. They are used to protect the surface that is being painted on. Some examples of where people use enamel paint is on boat, radiators, and floors.

What is the difference between emulsion paint and enamel paint?

Emulsion paint is water-based with some chemicals to last longer, although you can typically remove it with water and soap. Enamel paint is solvent-based, long-lasting paint. However, only a solvent can be used to remove it.
