FAQ's

Should you sand between coats of paint?

For the best possible finish you should use a fine grit-sandpaper between coats of paint with at least 200-grits. This is to make sure that you remove any bumps and drips before applying your next coat and it improves the adhesion and durability of the next coat.

What grit sandpaper to remove paint from wood?

Typically we would recommend a medium to fine sandpaper with 80-120 grits when removing paint, to ensure you don’t damage the wood. To remove old paint from wood you will need a more coarse sandpaper with around 60 to 80 grits, depending on how thick the old paint is.

What sandpaper to use to remove paint from metal?

When sanding paint from metal you need to make sure you do not damage the the metal underneath the paint particularly for non-ferrous metal, like aluminium. Therefore, we recommend using a higher grit sandpaper for aluminium at around 200-grits. however for metals such a steel you can use a more coarse sandpaper with around 80-grits.
