Description

Our Polyurethane Floor Paint is the ultimate solution for both industrial and domestic spaces, offering exceptional durability and long-lasting performance.

In many applications, your floors go through a lot. Whether they’re constantly being scraped and scratched by dropped tools in a workshop, or worn out by a lot of foot traffic in the home, you need to keep them looking good and well-protected.

Polyurethane floor paints offer unmatched protection. While less common in domestic properties, they’re the go-to for tradespeople for commercial and industrial environments. But before we talk about our paint, here’s a quick science lesson:

What is Polyurethane?

Polyurethane is a plastic compound used in a wide variety of building materials, coatings (like our paint!), and even our clothes!
A combination of isocyanates and polyols (hence ‘poly’) create strong urethane (hence ‘urethane’) bonds which can be engineered to be soft and spongey, or tough and rigid depending on its purpose.

What is Polyurethane Paint?

Our polyurethane paint (PU paint) contains a polyurethane resin, which adds a tonne of toughness to the paint. But what do we mean by toughness?

With this advanced polyurethane-based formulation, our floor paint is designed to withstand the harshest conditions, providing a tough and protective coating that can endure heavy foot traffic, abrasions, and chemicals.

The latter is very important, and not many paints are chemical-resistant. In factories, plants, workshops, and garages, chemicals like oil or other harmful substances can be spilled at any time. Even the cleanest company will have a spillage every now and then, so make sure your floor paint isn’t ruined by them.

It isn’t just industrial chemicals that ruin a floor either. It’s vital that you keep your floors clean, but the cleaning fluids you use to mop and/or scrub can eat away at floor paints that aren’t designed to resist it.

Keep in mind that polyurethane floor paint is not suitable for use on asphalt or power-floated flooring, but is most commonly used for concrete floor paint in a grey colour.

The Benefits of Polyurethane Floor Paint

Durability is naturally the biggest selling point for our polyurethane floor paint, but that isn’t everything it offers.

Our Polyurethane Floor paint is highly popular for its versatility. Its exceptional adhesion properties ensure a seamless application on various substrates, including concrete, wood, and metal. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from warehouses and factories to kitchens and living spaces. If you paint for a living, or own a large commercial or industrial space, a large barrel of polyurethane floor paint gives you a lot more bang for your buck.

When it comes to maintaining your painted floors, our Polyurethane Floor paint is a breeze to clean and maintain. Its smooth and semi-gloss finish can be enhanced with standard soaps or a pH-neutral cleaner.

Like we said, even the harshest cleaning chemicals will take years to dull the shine or wear through, so you can clean to your heart’s content.

The Best Colour for Floor Paint

For most applications, people use universal colours for their floors. In industrial and commercial settings, grey floor paint is a common sight, and you won’t see a bold colour like red or blue outside of a sports court or leisure centre.

But you don’t have to paint your floors a dull colour if you don’t want to. One of the standout features of our Polyurethane Floor paint is its availability in a wide range of colours.

We understand the importance of personalisation, and our extensive colour options allow you to create a customised look for your space. Our most popular colour options include:

  • Light Grey Floor Paint
  • Mid Grey Floor Paint
  • Dark Grey Floor Paint
  • Rustic Red Floor Paint
  • Black Floor Paint
  • White Floor Paint
  • Dark Green Floor Paint
  • Mid Green Floor Paint
  • Post Office Red Floor Paint
  • JCB Yellow Floor Paint
  • Bright Yellow Floor Paint
  • Light Blue Floor Paint
  • Mid Blue Floor Paint
  • Dark Blue Floor Paint

But that’s not all. If none of these standard floor paints takes your fancy, we can also mix your paint in any colour you can imagine. Just enter RAL codes or British Standard codes or have a special mix in the colour of your choice. Even if you want to go with the more common grey floor paint, there are a range of shades you can choose from, all of which will help your home or business look its best.
A more muted shade pairs well with our range of lining paints. Whether these are for safety purposes or purely aesthetic, a bold colour will stand out properly against grey floor paint or a similar colour choice.

The Best Paint for Floors

No matter what floor you need to paint and what colour you decide is best, you simply won’t find anything more durable than our polyurethane floor paint. It can be used anywhere, is easy to apply, equally easy to clean, and will look great for decades – ideal if you’re in a busy environment where painting time is hard to set aside.

Clean the surface thoroughly to remove dirt and grease. Doing this with a jet wash will save you a lot of time. Repair any cracks with some filler and sand down any bumps. Finally, ensure the floor is dry before applying paint.

How to apply polyurethane floor paint?

Firstly you need to clean the surface to remove any dirt, and fill in any cracks with filler and sand any bumps. Then before the next step make sure your floor is dry. For the best results and finish we recommend using a polyurethane floor sealer to provide a base coat and protect the surface from heavy foot traffic.

Finally applying the polyurethane floor paint you can use a roller or brush and if you apply the floor sealer you should only need the 1 coat. We recommend that you use a floor paint roller to finish the job more efficiently.

Will grey floor paint make a space look brighter or darker?

Grey floor paint is popular because it reflects light better than darker colours while still masking dirt. We have 3 shades of grey floor paint:

  • Dark Grey Floor Paint

  • Light Grey Floor Paint

Light and mid-grey shades can help make garages, basements and workshops feel brighter and more spacious. Whereas our dark grey floor paint creates a darker space that allows other elements, like vehicles or cabinets to stand out without clashing.
